Walking amongst Angels

What a beautiful moment in time! Just having a casual acquaintenace with anxious anticipation as I awaited my turn to cast my ballot for the 43rd President of the United States. Amongst all the other voters, you could feel the electricity in the air. It seemed that everyone was awaiting their turn to make a difference in tomorrow. This place was a breeding ground for friendships and casual associations. During my period of waiting, I noted the young ladies that surrounded me. In the front, the young lady possessed a book of interest to me. The book was composed of various postcards created by individuals who had decided to rid themselves of secrets that had crippled their lives for years. What an interesting book it turned out to be! Then there were the two young ladies behind me. A mother and daughter team who couldn't wait to cast their vote for the candidate of their choice. Our opportunity to engage each other was fantastic. We each had a part of ourselves to share with the other during our wait. We each had a significant story to share with the other. The most compelling of all was when I shared my recent release of my first book. The encouragement and congratulations I received made it all worth the while. I shared my business cards and made sure that each knew how to obtain my book for their own reading pleasure. After casting my ballot for my choice, I left the voting venue feeling empowered and ready to run the course that God has set forth for me.

Thank you God for allowing me the opportunity to walk with Angels.

Unspoken Chemistry

I wanted to speak but there was nothing to be said
Just the sound of our breathing intertwined with the whistling of the wind

I could feel the impact of your very existence
Not quite sure of the profound affect that you had on me

I was consumed by the very essence of your being
Taking note of the eloquent perception portrayed at the time

I wanted to speak but choked up into a trance
Afraid of breaking the chemistry that burned within us

It seemed that we were held captive by an unspoken chemistry

Never Give Up

You didn't get that A you wanted on that test
You stayed up all night to study all the material
You struggled to comprehend the information presented
Yet, you didn't get the grade you wanted....

But you never give up

You did your very best
You worked as hard as you could
You were deteremined and ambitious
You applied yourself and did the work
Yet you didn't get that well-deserved promotion

But you never give up

Your finances just don't seem to add up
You find yourself struggling constantly
Trying to find a means to an end
Just so you can make to another payday

But you never give up

The haters are throwing it at you hard
You just can't seem to catch a break
Everytime you turn left
It seems there's only a dead end in sight

But you never give up

You never give up
Because you believe in the impossible
You never give up
Because you see what no one can see
You never give up
Because you know that there's someone watching over you
You never give up
Because at the end of the day
When all your toils and trials have come and gone
Your faith will see you through
So...

You...

Never...

Give...

Up!

Because God never gives up on you.
